A Bucket list you can fulfill!

Bucket lists…everyone has one. Exotic places you want to visit once you win the lottery. How about the top 5 artists you have always wanted to see live?  Last Tuesday night I got to see the Dave Matthews Band in Charleston and another artist comes off my list. Where do I go from here? Who’s in your Top 5?

A few years ago, I published my top 5 list of artists that have eluded me these last 45 years. The original list included Paul McCartney,  Van Morrison, Pink Floyd ( I’ll take Roger Waters or David Gilmour and a backup band!), James Taylor and Steve Winwood. I got to see James Taylor back in November, 2014 and replaced him with Dave Matthews. This July I got to knock off Winwood and Matthews ! Who do I replace them with? That choice is such a personal decision. Who have you seen and who are you dying to see?

For me,the Foo Fighters are going on the list. Dave Grohl is that rare musician who’s been part of 2 great bands! To add to his greatness, he did it with different expertise.  You may recall that he was the drummer in Nirvana. These days with the Foo Fighters, he’s playing guitar and singing great lead vocals. That is something special.

I need to add another artist to my bucket list.

II’d love to get your suggestions and more importantly,  I want to read your List! Just post them in the Comment section. Share with my favorite Musical Maniacs and  we’ll expand our musical horizons. As when people suggest great places to eat and drink,” you just have to check out…”, we should do the same for artists. So,come join me in the pursuit of live music and your bucket list of great artists you’re dyin’ to see.

I’ve been thinking about this for a few days. I am a kid of the 90’s and love 90’s alternative music. I also grew up in Pittsburgh, a city that was on the tour list of most bands. So I’ve seen a lot of my favorites. I started thinking of my younger days, like when I was 10 years old and the music my dad often blasted through the house on his record player. So here is my list: 1) Jethro Tull, 2) The Animals, 3) Led Zeppelin, 4) AC/DC, 5) Van Halan.

I grew up in Pittsburgh. A frequent stop for bands. I saw most of my beloved 90’s alternative bands in small clubs and bars, as well as multiple Lollapalooza and Warp Tour’s. I never saw Nirvana, my all time favorite band. I had tix for that Lollapalooza, which Nirvana was headlining, but Cobain killed himself. Anyway, I love bands of the 70s. My dad would play 70’s throughout our house….vinyl of course. Here are some bands I would love to see live because of my dad: 1) Jethro Tull 2) The Animals 3) Led Zeppelin 4) AC/DC 5) Van Halan. (I wrote this earlier like, but don’t think it posted.)
